BQ28Z610: Issue: while flashing connections goes disturbed and after we are unable to connect with this gauge.

Part Number: BQ28Z610
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400

Hello team ,

My customer VVDN is facing some issue with our BQ28z610,

While programming sometimes the device gets some error after which it is never ever able to be detected again .

IF we connect the BQ studio the BQstudio is not able to detect the device.

My customer has the following understanding ,

Can you please help us to see any way in which this can be avoided , as this might be a production stop issue .

"if we aren't able to program successfully or aren't able to issue execute command successfully then  I  think gauge remains in some programming mode, in this mode since micro controller of the gauge is not running, it doesn't accept I2C instruction "

  • Hello Shree

I would recommend that your customer follow the instructions in the doc attachment below to determine which hardware version it is they are using

if it is the old hardware, the v17 buld 22 firmware version would not work on it.

Can your customer confirm how they are programming their device? Are they using ev2300 or ev2400, what firmware version is on either device which you are using? for the ev2300 you need to be using version 3.1m or 3.1r while for the ev2400 you need to use v0.18

-also make sure you are carrying out programming in an ESD/EMI free area

    thanks
