BQ35100: How do I program chem ID by MCU?

Hi,

Could I program chem ID by MCU on board?

We use battery CR123A and intend to work in EOS mode.

Currently I get chem ID 0x606.

Hi Jaco,
You can't program just the chem id because it is proprietary. You need to program the entire srec to the device. You can use our tool bqstudio to program the srec to the device as well for evaluation purposes

Hi Jaco,
Try chem id 703. That is the chem id for duracell CR123, but it will likely work for yours since EOS mode uses the change the rate of change in resistance for eos determination and not the actual resistance values.

We use two Panasonic CR123A in parallel installation. Is chem ID 703 suitable for this case?

yes, you will just need to configure your design capacity correctly which is just a matter of multiplying the capacity of once cell by 2.
