TPS51285B: Inductor high frequency noise issue

Part Number: TPS51285B

Hello,

Customer meet high frequency noise of inductor. Has any comments to solve this noise issue? Thank you.

Patrick

  • 1, Add a resistor (2~10ohm) in series of the boot cap or add a snubber circuit in the SW node(in series with a resistor(2ohm) and cap(2200pF) to the GND).
2, Use the Field Power Inductor, such as the Ferrite Core Inductor.
3, When draw the layout, the SW node copper need to be away from the FB wire to avoid the noise couple to the FB pin. The power loop need to connect to the Thermal Pad (GND), the signal loop(FB, CS, VREG, PGOOD, VCLK, EN ) connect to the GND pin.
  • Hello Patrick,

You also can add a high frequency input cap 0.1uF at PQ3 and PQ4.

Could you upload the issue waveform and layout for review?
