TPS40210-Q1: convert 2V to 7V with using external bias

Guru 29720 points
Part Number: TPS40210-Q1

Is it possible to configure the following schematic for TPS40210-Q1?

- VIN_supply: 2V
- Vout: 7V
- External Bias: 5V (low power consumption)

The recommended operating conditions of TPS40210-Q1 shows VIN=4.5V~ however my customer wants to convert 2V to 7V with using external bias (5V).

  • Hello Yaita,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It is possible use an external bias to power the TPS40210-Q1. Please note that this will effect the current limit and the amount of slope compensation over the input voltage range. Please see section 7.3.3 Current Sense and Sub-Harmonic Instability section of the datasheet to help with component selection.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
