TPS1H100-Q1: Current limiting cycle

Hello E2E,

I have a question for this device.

When shorted out to GND, how much the retry cycle time?

Regards,

ACGUY

  • Hi ACGUY,

There is no timer that sets a constant retry cycle time for the device once it hits the current limit. The device will limit the output current to the specified value until it overheats and the thermal shutdown turns off the device. Once the device has cooled off by 10C, it will try to turn itself on again. If the short it still present, then it will shut once again overheat and shut itself off. There is no specific timing her because the overheating time can vary depending on board layout, ambient temperature, power supply capability, and the extent of the short to GND.

    Thanks,
