TPS51610: Is TPS51610 suitable for the Ice lake platform?

Dear all,

customer need following parts for their Ice lake platform power supply, their requirement is following:

1. Has VID function, the voltage can be set as 0/1.1/1.6/1.8V;

2.16A continuous output current and 34A OCP current;

3. input voltage is 6~14V;

If TPS51610 is not suitable, could you please give me your recommendation?

    Hi John,

    The TPS51610 is not suitable for Ice Lake designs. It's SVID bus was designed to support IMVP6 processors, not VR13. VID step size, IMON tolerances, and power state behavior, among other things could all be different and affect performance.

    For Ice Lake applications the the current range you're looking for I would recommend looking at the TPS53622 and TPS53659.
