Hello.

We are designing a BMS for 14 series cell application and have chosen BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC for monitoring and passive balancing. We also want to to measure the internal cell resistance of the cells to be monitored. Are there any functions of the IC that can aid in the measurement of internal cell resistance?

Hi Kartik,

I am happy to hear that you guys have chosen the pl455.

You may be able to take advantage of the ADC voltage measurements under different loads, something like here:

batteryuniversity.com/.../how_to_measure_internal_resistance

We do not have any specific functions to measure internal cell resistance. Your best bet is to use the ADC readings + knowledge of your load conditions and compute it in your MCU.
