LM3433: or another LED Driver for 50 - 100 V at 18 A

Part Number: LM3433

Hello team,

I am supporting an application for which an LM3433 could work, however, it would need to extend the LED power operating range to 50 or 100 Volts at 18 Amps constant current, PWM.

Q1: Is there any application notes or reference designs that you'd recommend looking into?
Q2: Is there any other device you'd recommend for these requirements?

  • Hello Victor,

Wow, that is an insane amount of power! How are these LED strings going to be handled? The LM3434 has a higher voltage rating, but with anything we have it is going to depend on the input voltage and likely whether you can use multiple converters. 1.8kW is a bit out of our wheelhouse for single converters.

So the questions are what the input voltage is, whether that is flexible, and whether multiple converters can be used for lower string voltages. We may have options if the latter is true. We have a couple of drivers that can do 18A, but not at such a high voltage as a single solution. Let me know and I'll see if there are options.

    Thanks,

    Clint
