UCC28810: Looking for a part for LED driver

Hello,

I am working on a project an LED driver with the following spec -

1. Universal Input, 85-265Vac

2. O/p current of 1.2A, Analog standard 0-10V dimming

3. 45-65 Hz freq range

4. Output OV threshold of 26 to 30V, o/p overcurrent threshold of 1.3-1.5 A.

I see that the UCC28810 fits my requirements however I am not certain that the OV thresholds could be met. Is there any other IC you would recommend ? Or would a design change be possible.

Is any IC which has an opto couple integrated into the chip for sensing output current?

Hi Sowmya,

The output OVP would have to be a separated discrete circuit with a second opto-coupler to provide an independent feedback back system to the UCC28810 in the event of an OVP.

Unfortunately TI does not have a PWM controller with integrated opto-coupler.

I would need Overcurrent, Over voltage and Undervoltage protection as well.

Once I figure out the discrete circuit which pins would I need to connect this to?

Hi Sowmya,

If you pull the VSENSE pin below the Enable threshold you will turn off the gate drive. This feature is described in the pin description table on page 6.
