TPS65286: TPS65286 - want to reduce the SS time

Hi all,

My customer want to reduce its SS time to 0.7ms in his TPS65286 project, but he can't limit the time less than 1ms. I know TPS65286 has internal 1ms soft-start time. But is it possible to reduce it? Thanks for your help.

For TPS65286, It is impossible to reduce the Tss less than 1ms.

Hi Gary,

Have you tried to use a smaller SS cap which is around 6nf? Why does the customer would like a soft start time shorter than default?

TPS65286 can track the voltage applied on SS pin, one way to reduce the SS time is to apply a quick ramp up voltage on SS pin after chip is enabled, slew rate=0.6V/0.7ms.

This device has internal 1ms setting, so this 1ms is a limit for the Min Tss.
if the Tss is less than 1ms via external Css setting, the device will change to the internal 1ms control.
