BQ76930: Built in LDO in BQ76930

Part Number: BQ76930

Dear Team,

My customer is using BQ76930 for battery monitoring. He will also like to use the build in LDO for other function. According to the datasheet, the output voltage for LDO (regout) is set at 3.3V, but it is range from 0V to 3.6V. However, my customer has a measurement reading of 3.7V, which is outside absolute maximum rating.

Would you please comment on what condition the output voltage will has such a large variance, and how setting can be done to improve such high LDO output voltage variance. Beside, may I know what is the output current for LDO ouptut (regout)? 38mA typical?

I highly appreciate your comment. Thanks.

Best regards,

Andy Chu

  • REGOUT on this device family is 3.3V with a +/_ 4%% accuracy.  The load regulation specification is with 20mA of external load.

As to your reading, please check the GND reference. is the GND sitting at -0.3V ?  another possibility is that the LDO is being back biased via

    another external source.
