We have several BQ24070 ic's in a very stable design that has been being produced for some time now at quantities of 2000 to 40000 per month. Our last couple of production runs have had about a 10-20% fail rate. The problem is a low ohm short from 6 ohms to 60 ohms depending on the assembly between Pin 11 (Vss) and Pin 12 (TS). We have removed the IC from the circuit and verified that the short is internal to the IC. Is their a known bad date code group for these or have others seen this issue? Are their any known issues regarding this?
