TPS65916: FSD Availability

Part Number: TPS65916

Hi,

In the TPS65916 DS, it appears as if FSD is a means of triggering a power-up sequence of the PMIC. However, this function also seems to be OTP disabled by default in the OTP 38 1.1-version of the device. Is it possible to enable this function in the device by overwriting the INT2 FSD register bit or by any other means?

Thanks for taking your time.

Kind regards,

Gustaf

  • Hi Gustaf,

While it is not possible to overwrite the OTP to cause first supply detection (FSD) to be a power-up event for an OTP where this is intentionally masked, it should be possible to tie POWERHOLD pin to LDOVRTC in order to simulate the same effect (i.e. when power is applied, POWERHOLD goes high and the part is enabled).

Let us know if that won't work for this particular use case.
