TPS548D22: circuit review

Part Number: TPS548D22

Hello

One of my clients is using the TPS548D22RVF for this project.

It seems to me that it was applied with the right design values.

Could you please take one more review?

I will deliver the corresponding schematic file.

  • I'll get somebody to look at this...
  • Hello Andy,

    Please make the following changes:

    1. Zero Ohm resistor in series with C94.

    2. Snubber circuit as place holder at SW node (470pF + 3.01 Ohm).

    3. C99 as no pop or delete it.

    4. EN_UVLO R31: this pin has maximum rating as 7.7V. Concerning the ringing voltage on the input voltage can damage this pin. Suggest to have a resistor divider on this pin.

    5. ILIM R35: this value gives about 45A OCP. What is the customer limit value? Please see Figure 15 on page 13 for details.

    6. Input capacitor: seems not enough to cover the RMS value. Please verify the capacitor manufacture datasheet.

  • Hello
    Thank you for your reply.

I'm curious about the changes you've made.

    1. I want to know why I connect 0OHM in series with C99.

    3. I want to know why I removed C99.

    4. The input voltage of this circuit is 5.6V. UVLO The internal pressure of the PIN is not exceeded.
If so, should I add a resistor?

  • Hi Andy,
    1. I assumed you mean C94 (boot capacitor). Purpose of adding zero Ohm resistor in series with the boot cap: just want to precaution in case the circuit needs to reduce the switch node ringing due to such as PCB layout.
    3. Please refer to pin 37 on page 3 datasheet.
    4. What is the tolerance of 5.6V or how tight the regulation of 5.6V? The input voltage will have the AC voltage ringing when TPS548D22 operates. It is recommended to keep the EN below the maximum voltage rating.
