BQ25606EVM-772: Max current output from battery

Part Number: BQ25606EVM-772

Is there a limit on current output from the battery in BQ25606-EVM. I am boosting the output and connecting it to a projector.

The device is resetting as soon as external power source is switched off.

The battery is capable of more than 7-8A of continuous discharge. I am not sure where it is going wrong.

  • Hey Vineet,

Just to make sure I am understanding your test:

    1) You have input power at VBUS pin and are supplying current through SYS pin.

    2) You remove power, so all the power now comes from the battery, to BAT pin, through the Q4 FET, and out of SYS pin again.

If this is correct, then yes, I would expect this. Please see page 12 of the datasheet, under BATFET_OCP which can be hit ~6A DC. This turns off the Q4 FET (BATFET).
