BQ40Z50-R2: BQ40Z50 - R2 and BQ40Z50 - R1 Typical Applications has some difference, can you explain why

Hi,

I look at the two specifications of the reference circuit,found the following problem, can help solve?

1.BQ20Z50-R1 have two resistance with SMBC and SMBD,respectively 100Ω and 200Ω. But BQ40Z50-R2 have only one resistance with SMBC and SMBD,it is 100Ω. What is the reason for this?

2.BQ40Z50-R1 have two capacitance with SRN and SRP,I think is optimization of detection. But BQ40Z50-R2 cancel this design.What is the reason for this?

3.datasheet Page 1,FUSE pin have a diode,but reference circuit cancel this design.What is the reason for this?

Hi David,
1. On the bq40z50-r2, we used ti-esd devices. With those T -esd devices, the second resistances were not needed. They resistors blow out when tested for esd.
2. Those capacitors were found to be redundant after some characterization testing on the chip hence their removal.
3. The diode is redundant
