TPS53679: SVID clock frequency

Part Number: TPS53679

Hi,

The minimum value of SVID clock frequency is 43 MHz.

The host side device of the SVID I / F is fixed to 25 MHz.

What kind of behavior problems will occur when 25 MHz clock is input?

Best Regards,

kenji Ohno/Japan disty.

  • Hi Ohno-san,

    Thanks for checking.
The way we specify the datasheet parameter is to specify the test condition to be used to confirm if the silicon can meet the spec.
In this case, we are trying to confirm if the silicon can still communicate with the host via SVID when it runs @ 43MHz, which is the minimum clock rate we think the silicon is a good device. For example, if a device fails at 38MHz, then we would think it would be a bad device, and that's how we specify it in the datasheet.
With that being said, a good device can support anything below 43MHz for sure. (25MHz in your case)
    Hope it clarify your question.

    Regards,
    Brian
