UCD90160: problem with third party vendor chips on pm bus using FUSION tool

Part Number: UCD90160

with the more recent releases of fusion(since the big re-design from around march), when the tool finds a non-TI part on the PM bus, it assigns a TI part number to them. i need a way to delete these bogus devices. the monitor and debug tools will hang when invoked with these devices still on the design tree.

Hi Bob,
Did you enable the PEC option on the USB-to-GPIO Dongle? please refer the GUI 7.0 user guide to see how to enable PEC and how to set the various device scan mode.

well, if i just open the on-line application, it goes ahead and scans the whole address field. if i unplug it from the board, i can mess with dropping out the two problem addresses. but that's not much of a solution. it will still scan the whole field next time unless i un-plug it and set the addresses and plug it in again.

if i rescan after it has come up and identified the bogus addresses, the addresses can be deleted from the scan. but that doesn't do anything to the application when the scan is done. the bogus addresses are still there.

i guess i'm stuck un-plugging and plugging the dongle each time. unless there's an init type file that can be used to bring it up to remove the offending addresses.

Go to File->preferencec->Configure Device Scan Mode and Address.
From there you can configure how GUI scan the device and you can also limit what address is scanable

i tried this. the deleted addresses show up in the preferences, but the ignore request is ignored upon first opening the application. it still scans the entire range.

Hi, on the "Device Scan Mode Editor", you need to check on the "Save setting next time GUI starts" checkbox on the top-right corner to save your setting.
