BQ24073: TMR timer programming resistor

For part BQ24073RGTT the TMR timer programming resistor should be 18 to 72 kOhm. What would the affect be, other than wrong timer value, if the resistor value is below 18 kOhm? Is there a risk af damage to the chip.

Hi,
The performance of the IC is not guaranteed if you go below the minimum or above the maximum values specified in the datasheet. You can disable the timers by connecting TMR to VSS.
