WEBENCH® Tools/BQ35100: Problem getting raw data

Part Number: BQ35100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello,

from what I understand from the Technical Reference document, when the gauge is in calibration mode, it should not consider the offset that are set in the data flash.

I'm using BqStudio, I have set 100mV in pack V offset.

My problem is whatever the value of the calibration bit, the voltage value in BqStudio remains the same, even when I refresh.

I power my gauge with a Stabilised DC power supply unit.

Did I miss something ?

Arthur

  • Hi Arthur.
I am not sure i understand what the problem is here. Are you saying that you have a constant voltage powering the IC, but you are expecting the voltage measurement of the gauge to change?

Help me understand what it is you are trying to achieve and then i will be able to provide recommendations.
    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

My problem is that when I try calibrate the voltage offset twice, the calculated offset is very different. I think it cames from the rawData I got. When I get the raw data, in calibration mode, the voltage I get should not contains the voltage offset ?

In normal mode : MesuredVoltage = rawVoltage + packVoffset

In calibration mode : MesuredVoltage = rawVoltage

That's what I understand from the docs, but it seems that I'm wrong. Am I ?
