BQ25504: Output Ripple

Part Number: BQ25504

I am using a high side current sense chip to sense the current from the BQ25504 charging a battery.  I notice the output ripple increases significantly as power from the input source is increased.  The output voltage ripple is amplified through the current sense chip and causes inaccurate current reading.  Is it typical that the BQ25504 output ripple is increased as output power increases?

The MPPT is set to 60% of the open circuit voltage.  there is also another issue, as the available input power from the source increases to about 150mW-200mW, (Vopen circuit about 4.5 to 5V), the MPPT does not regulate to 60% of the open circuit voltage and the circuit operates in a less efficient point.  Is there a limit on the input impedance the BQ25504 can regulate to that could be a problem?  could this also cause the increase in output ripple?

(200uF cap is used at the output of the BQ25504) output ripple increase from 2.5mV to 10 mV from low to high input power.  MPPT cannot regulate to 60% VOC at higher input power (150mW-200mW)

Thanks,

James
