LP8758-B0: Vout accuracy in PFM-Mode

Part Number: LP8758-B0
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP8758-E0

Hi,

I have a question about Vout accuracy in PFM-Mode.

About the Vout accuracy during PFM Mode operation, what does the following description in Datasheet P.6 mean?

Does it say that the accuracy is ± 2% and that it can fit with an error of at most 15mV?

Also, what does 20 mV of "max (2%, 15 mV) 20 mV" described in MAX stand for? Is it a mistake?

Best Regards,

Yuto Sakai

  • Hi Yoto-san,

Yes, it means exactly that. It is min of -2% or -15mV and max of +2% or +15mV plus static shift +20mV. So if output voltage is under 0.75V it is -15mV min and +15mV max + 20mV static shift.

If output voltage is for example 1V it is -20mV (-2%*1V) min and +20mV (2%*1V) max + 20mV static shift.

+20mV means DC level of the output voltage is slightly shifted upward in PFM mode with maximum of +20mV.
  • Hi Jari-san

    Thank you for your reply.

Is the idea of accuracy the same in LP8758-E0 too?

Also, the E0 version has a specific value of accuracy in the PWM mode, but why is there nothing in B0?

    Best Regards,

    Yuto Sakai

  • Hi Yoto-san,

Yes, the idea is same for E0 too.

For B0 there is specification in PWM mode, but there is also some limitations. For E0 values are -+2% and -+20mV but for B0 -1 - +1.5%.
