BQ24610RGET_ Feedback resistor selection

In our design, selected voltage divider resistors are 252K(R1) and 36K(R2) for  feedback pin to achieve the 2.1 output voltage(Battery charging voltage:16.8V). During the testing, we found the repeated failure in that 252K resistor. It is a manufacturing defect and also  availability of resistor  is critical. Based on our components availability, we selected the resistor as 14K (R1) and 2K(R2). But in datasheet, application diagram it is shown that resistors are in the range of above 100K. So whether that selected low value resistor is acceptable or not. Kindly give the suggestion.
