PMIC similar to TPS65917-Q1/TPS65919-Q1 with configurable power up sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65917-Q1, TPS65919-Q1, TPS65023-Q1, TPS650250-Q1

We are looking for a PMIC with about 4/5 Buck Regulators and 3/4 LDOs for our design.

The TPS65917-Q1 and TPS65919-Q1 satisfies our load requirements, except for the default start-up voltages and start-up sequence.

Can you please suggest us some PMICs with similar ratings , with configurable power-up sequences.

`Will provide more information on the start-up sequence, if required.

  • Uma,

I have assigned our TPS65919/ TPS69917 expert to this question.

In the meantime, if you could provide some information such as voltage requirements, current requirements, and start-up sequence that would be very useful in finding the right PMIC for your design.

    Thank you,
    Nick
  • Hello Uma,

I can't find any single PMIC which has the same number of rails, and is externally configurable. Usually with that many rails, we use OTP-configurable devices.

We do have smaller devices that could be put together in the system to meet your requirements. Without knowing your exact requirements, I can't recommend a full solution. But you can consider the below devices which are similar to subsets of TPS65917-Q1 capability.

LP8733x-Q1 - 2x buck + 2x LDO which is configurable by I2C. A microcontroller can overwrite the default voltages and sequences before setting EN pin high to configure the power-up and power-down behavior.

    TPS65023-Q1 - 3 buck + 2 LDO, externally configurable voltages and sequence

    TPS65024x-Q1 or TPS650250-Q1 - 3 buck + 2 LDO, externally configurable voltages and sequence

    Regards,
    Karl
