UCC28810: Using UCC28810 as PFC Power Supply Controller not as LED lighting PFC Controller

I was given a project that is using UCC28810 LED driver IC. In the design they are not driving LED's they are just producing 24 Volts DC at 2 amps straight power supply. What are the issues with doing thi type of thing? We we are seeing is excessive noise on the 24 volt outputs. Would it be possible to give me some guidance as what would be the proper way to do this design. Again we have the supply running but we are seeing excessive current spikes on Fet at turn on and turn off.

If you can send me your schematic as well as oscilloscope waveforms for the noise on your output and the current current spikes you mentioned, I will take a look.

There should be a button that says "Use rich formatting" in the lower right corner of the text box. After you click this, a toolbar will pop up and the button that resembles a paperclip will let you insert the files.

Ben,

The scope shots are the current across R21 and the noise is on the other trace. The other scope shots are the Drain to Source voltage and also the other trace is the noise of the output. Again if you can send me a personal email so i can send you the schismatic.

Hi Scott,

The noise you are seeing in the output voltage is switching noise. Could you send me a picture of your test setup? Also may I see your pcb layout?
