BQ76940: bq76940 Device Reset

Part Number: BQ76940

There is no AFE reset function for this device.

However, for many certification and customer concern, they worried about the safety if AFE is malfunction.

That’s why customers begin to consider “reset” function for AFE.

This is a comment I got from BU two years ago - The typical way to reset the part in development is to momentarily short CAP1 to ground. Today two years afterwards, would like to align with you if any update or advice for this?

  • this way there  is no guarantee of the device will sequentially shutdown all the regulators so that device can be brought back from

SHIPMODE to Normal mode without XREADY faults. This  is the least stable there are many internal cap

and voltages node will be in un-deterministic stages hinder the stack communications.

The controlled PORZ is to command the part via the I2C ( sLEEP1, Sleep 2 ) registers and to initiate the wake via TS1.
