TPS92692-Q1: Pout(max) of Buck Boost Design Parameters table

Guru 20090 points
Part Number: TPS92692-Q1

Hello,

The Pout(max) in the  table 5 of Buck Boost design parameters is 12.6W.
However, the Vout is 39.6V(max) and ILED is 1500mA(max).
I think that the calculation of Pout is not same with 12.6W if we use maximum value of Vout and ILED.
Also there is a description that "3 to 9 LEDs in Series and maximum 15W output power" in 9.2.2.1 Design Requirements.

Could you please let me know the reason of this 12.6W?

On the other hand, In the table 3 of Boost LED design parameters, Po(max) is 25W.
And Vo(max) is 50.4V and ILED(max) is 500mA. The calculation result is similar with Po(max).
Thsu, I would like to know that the background of the 12.6W.

Ryuji

  • Hello Ryuji-san,

I am not sure why it says 15W, it's likely just a typo that was missed. In either case the 12.6W is what is used in the equations to determine the peak inductor and switch currents so that the inductor saturation rating can be determined and the RIS value can be calculated. It is just an example to follow so the power level can be changed and the calculations re-run for different requirements.

  • Hello Clint san,

    I appreciate your help.
I understood that the 15W is a typo.
