BQ25703A: bq25703A / Input capacitor for 5V/1.5A adapter

Part Number: BQ25703A

Hi,

I know that the bq25703A EVM use 10uF x6 as input capacitor, and the EVM can be used for 3.5V to 24V / 6Amax adapter. But now the customer design their system with only 5V / 1.5A adapter for 2s1p battery. Then can you recommend the 4.7uF or 4.7uF x2 as input capacitor for 5V / 1.5A input source for 2s1p battery?

Best Regards,

  • We only evaluated 6x10uF input capacitors. In general, small current could request less input capacitance to keep input voltage's variation is not shown to the small signal control loop equation. The input voltage ripple or variation could be related to the layout. without test, it is hard to guarantee. For other input or output capacitor values, I hope customers can do detail evaluation before finalizing the design.
