TPS1H000-Q1: Current condition : 6A, 20us

Part Number: TPS1H000-Q1

Hi all

Would mind if we ask TPS1H000-Q1?

It's relation with follows post,
https://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/switches/f/949/t/629444

Our customer wonders if it is possible to be filled with TPS1H000-Q1 or not.
Our customer's current condition : 6A, 20us

We guess that TPS1H000-Q1 can not be filled with specific because of follows;
-ICL(int) Internal current limit : NG(1.8A max)
-The fast-trip response time is less than 1 µs : NG(20us flow)

However, we have guestion about "Deglitch time when current limit."

<Question>
During tCL(deg), do "the device ICL(int) Internal current limit" and "The fast-trip response time is less than 1 µs" become invalid?
On the datasheet P10 Figure 9. Holding Mode Example, after tCL(deg) term, VFAULT outputs.
So, if you have some comment, could you let us know?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hirotaka-san,

    The TPS1H000 can not work in this application because:

    1- Current limit max is 1.8A so the device can not deliver the 6A to the load

    2- ON resistance is 1 Ohm at room temperature and around 2 ohms at high temperature and this cause high voltage drop 2 Ohms x 6A = 12V across the FET

    The FET is turned off within 1uS response by the internal fast loop The 1uS response is always valid. The Deglitch time is a delay to report the fault.
