BQ40Z50EVM-561: BQ40Z50EVM-561 4S1P to test charge , even no output current but bqStudio can receiver data?

Dear,

our client used BQ40Z50EVM-561 4S1P to test charge , even no output current but bqStudio can receiver data.

and we will try 1N Cell table connection to GND, it`s can fixed issue, But we find the first one Cell in PC side can not read Voltage data...

attached file is record data and function block diagram.

 

If any, Please advise me.

    hi Lawrence.
    I am not sure i clearly understand what the problem is, but if the complaint is that you are unable to see any current, the reason is that you have your fets turned off from looking at your log file. You need to send the fet enable command (0x22) to turn on the fets.

    Hi Onyx,

    I used bq40z50EVM-561 to measure 4S1P Li-ion pack that the details are as follows,

    issue 1:
    when output current is zero, but bqStudio could receive current data, nearly 50~200mA.
    Try to "1N NODE" connect to gnd, but it useless.

    issue 2:
    There is only single one Cell Voltage cannot be read by bqStudio, but I can measure the real Voltage on the EVM borad by meter,
    then I had turned the fets on when I send the fet enable command (0x22), but it still useless.

    Hi Freddie,

    Can you set up the EVM step-by step following the instructions in the EVM user guide.When you have verified that you have that working as shown in the quick start guide, then you can try configuring your cells for 1s

    Dear Onyx,

    The true thing is in 4S1P cell pack, I got lose the "Cell 4 Voltage", 

    it made me confused...

    Hi Freddie,
    Did you configure the number of cells in the data flash of the gauge for a 4 series pack? if you are configured for 3cells in sereies, the fourth cell wouldn't be measured.

    Dear Onyx,

    I didn't configured anything, even I used a NEW bq40z50EVM board,

    the situation was the same, still couldn't measured the fourth cell voltage.

    ( PC side fourth voltage is "0V", pack side fourth voltage is "3.89V" )

    How can I solve this problem?  thanks!

    Hi Freddie,
    The gauge comes configured by default to measure 3 cells. You need to configure it for 4 cells, that is what i was trying to tell you. You need to set the CC1 and CC0 flags in DA configuration and then issue a reset command (0x41) for the device to measure the 4th cell.
