BQ27542-G1: Characterizing battery, can you average golden image?

Part Number: BQ27542-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, BQ27542EVM, EV2400

I would like to characterise a battery using BQstudio which has been set-up with an EV2400 and a BQ27542EVM. We have completed the learning cycle with one battery and generated a golden image. If I run the learning cycle again with another battery of the same model, will the gauge parameters be overwritten with the new parameters? Alternatively, will it take an average of the two parameters meaning that I can run the learning cycle with a range of batteries to get a more accurate set of parameters? If the learning cycle will not take an average, is there a way to do so in BQstudio or another software? Thanks

  • Hi Ajayt,
You only need one learning cycle after which you extract a golden file which will be programmed on other units. You do not need to run multiple learning cycles. The gauge will learn each unit while in the field. You do not need an average golden file either.

    thanks
