On Board Speaker with TPS65930

Hello,

I need to use an on-board speaker (Not stereo headset) with TPS65930 PMIC. There is the no application schematic given TRF.

Should I need to use Class D (TPA2010D1) and if so should I connect both diff lines PreDriv.LEFT and PreDriv.RIGHT to IN+ & IN-.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Abhijith,

You can connect the re-driver outputs to drive external class-D. That is the purpose of having pre-drivers on this part.

Thanks for the reply.

Now, I am using a typical 8 Ohm , piezo-electric speaker on board.

Should I need to connect the IN+ and IN- as shown in the application schematic below or should I drive the speaker with both the diff lines.

Kindly confirm.

PreDriv.LEFT and PreDriv.RIGHT are not differential.There are single ended for left and right channel.

I do not think , that plus and minus can be connected to LEFT and right.

Please confirm with somebody from TI.

Yes, the pre-drivers are stereo output and not differential.

TPA2010 is a mono differential class-D amplifier. So, it cannot take stereo input the way you have connected.
