TPS563208: I have successfully dropped a voltage from 7.4 V to 5.0 V. An issue I'm running into right now is that there is some sort of current protection.

What's your supply? Maybe the source is current limited not the converter.

It's just an adjustable power supply my school has. I'm 100% sure that's not the issue. I even checked to make sure it wasn't. I had the current limit set to like 2 Amps.

Try to use a electronic load instead of 8 ohm resistor.

I tried using an electronic load and mimicked the current draw the servo would have, and I ran into the same issue.

What do you mean "layout"? Do you want to see a picture of my breadboard?

This is a picture of the plot at the switch node with the 8 Ohm load resistor connected at the output. It stays around the -.7 mV area. The voltage drops across the 8 Ohm load resistor is .55 V (but it's supposed to be 5V. It changes the second I connect it for some reason.

Hi, for the power circuit,you can't use a breadboard, you should draw PCB by yourself or use the WEBENCH(it has the Layout). 

The converter in the breadboard can't work with heavy load.

I soldered the converter onto a breakout board. Is that still not feasible?
