BQ27426: Dynamically changing chemID vs using OpConfigD register

Part Number: BQ27426
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

In BQstudio, I set the OpConfigD register to 0x2b to indicate that I wish to use chemID 1202. After writing and reading all, then soft resetting, it look like 0x2b wrote to the device. However, using the CHEM_ID command, it still returns 0x3230 as the Chem ID. It only changes if I dynamically change the chemistry using 0x0031.

I am wondering what the difference is between changing bits [4:3] in OpconfigD is, compared to command 0x0031 and why the CHEM_ID does not return 1202 if I change the OpConfigD register.

Thanks,

Josh
