BQ40z50-R1: Protection Delay Time accuracy Spec OCD1, OCD2, AOLD

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1

Hi Team

Now I have some question from  Customer.

This Question for    OCD1, OCD2, AOLD  Protection Delay time Accuracy.

But i can not found this Protection Delay Time Accuracy.

[ Question ]

Could you tell us  these  OCD1, OCD2, AOLD  Protection Delay time Accuracy ??

   For instance   Typ Value ( =  Setting Value )   ± 10% ??  or 5% ??

I understand this Delay time is Device Spec only,   actually  Protection delay time need  with FET On time and delay other time.

But Customer want to know this device spec .

 Thanks and Regard

 Jasper  (  Sugimoto )

  • Hi Jasper,

The FET rise and fall time plus the delay of the AFE would add to  the protection delay time accuracy. So what ever time you set, add the fet rise or fall times which for the fets tested on our boards has a max of 500uS.

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx

    Thank you very much.

We know this 500usec Riging time spec
    * 7.18 Electrical Characteristics: CHG, DSG FET Drive Max 500usec

But we want to know these each additional delay setting time Accuracy Min / Max sepc.
OCD 1 Delay time setting 2sec ± ??sec
OCD 2 Delay time setting 1sec ± ??sec
AOLD Delay time setting 29msec ± ??sec

Yes , total delay is these one.
    OCD1 setting delay time (Min / Max) + 500usec
    OCD2 setting delay time (Min / Max ) + 500usec
AOLD setting delay time (Min / max ) + 500usec

This device has Frequency Ocillator and error sepc .

    fHFO(ERR)  Frequency error =>  16.78MHz ( Min -2.5%  Typ ±0.25%  Max +2.5%)

This mean , we think that the OCD1,OCD2,AOLD delay setting time is influenced by this clock spec.
or you said 7.32 Timing Requirements: OCD, SCC, SCD1, SCD2 Current Protection Timing
    especially this one ,
tACC ( Current fault delay time accuracy ) Max delay setting Min -10% Max +10%

Is this delay setting time Accuracy ??

    Jasper ( Sugimoto )
  • Hi Jasper,
Yes it is delay setting time accuracy
    thanks
