BQ40Z60: BQ40Z60 charging problem

Part Number: BQ40Z60
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM, TPS55330

Hello,

We have a customer board based on BQ40Z60 dev kit for 2s1P battery. When I use BQ40Z60 to charge battery, I find the charging current is a bit low which is only 80 mA and we get OC flag setting when battery voltage reaches 6.85V. Although OC flag is set, it still charges battery with 80 mA current.

During charging we disable the gauging function and temperature is within standard temperature range.

The DATA memory setting for standard temperature is following

Voltage 4000 mv

current low 500 ma

current high 800 ma

current high 1000 ma

We have not finished the learning cycle of BMS chip so both both remaining capacity and full charge capacity are 0 mah. We would like to get the charging and discharging curve to get correct Chem ID. We use LG chem 18650HG2 cell. We would like to how to solve this problem.

Best Regards,

Bo
