BQ76PL455A-Q1: AUX pins

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL455A

Hello.

I am using BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC for monitoring and balancing of 14 cells. I had a query regarding the AUX pins. The datasheet mentions that AUX pins can be connected to thermistors for measuring of temperature.

My questions are:-

1) Are Pull up resistors for thermistors built into the IC? If i were to use 10K thermistors, do i have to provide the supply and pull up resistors externally?

2) Can the values measured on the AUX pins be monitored on the BQ76PL455A GUI provided by TI?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Kartik

  • Hello Kartik,

There are integrated pull up resistors from AUX(N) to AUX(N+1).

For a thermistor circuit, you must provide the supply and the pull up R to the supply. It is possible to use VP, but keep in mind the voltage swings.

You can measure the AUX pins and monitor through the GUI. There is a tab for the AUX pins.
