UCD9248: some issues on GUI

Part Number: UCD9248

Hi experts,

I have a customer who has some difficulties configure GUI. The questions like below:

How to configure a power rail configuration to control the foot or start the control rail in the Fusion? Is there a new version document about it?

Best Regards,

  • When GUI is started in offline mode, you can create a new offline device from start, select UCD92xx series from support list, and select UCD9248 device.

The GUI will then initialize for the UCD9248 device. In the main window, click the button "Click to configure device". A new window will pop up in which you can configure the device.

    Regards,

    Zhiyuan

  • I have three questions about how to configurate DCU 9284 with Fusion.

    1. where to set "Stay" displayed on the power rail in the Dependencies column on the front page of the GUI?

    2. If an I/O is configured as GPI, How to set the I/O with corresponding rail to start?

    3. When an I/O is configured as GPO, what time does the I/O output?
  • Hi Zhiyuan,

Thank you for your help. Qiangzhou is my customer, please give us some support :

We have another 3 questions about how to configure UCD9248 with Fusion.

    1. In the main window, where to set "Stay" displayed on the power rail in the column of "Dependencies"?

    2. If an I/O is configured as GPI or GPO, How to set the I/O with corresponding rail to start?

    3. When an I/O is configured as GPO, when is it valid?

    Regards

  • 1. In the main window, where to set "Stay" displayed on the power rail in the column of "Dependencies"?

First define a pin as GPI under GPIO Config tab, then select the pin as "stay on dependency" under Rail Configuration tab.

    2. If an I/O is configured as GPI or GPO, How to set the I/O with corresponding rail to start?

All the available options are under GPIO Config tab.

    3. When an I/O is configured as GPO, when is it valid?

When the conditions are met, the pin output becomes "true" or "asserted". The polarity of the pin is configurable, "active high" or "active low". In active high mode, true means high.

  • 1. I cannot find "stay ondependency" on the interface of GUI V7.0.18. Can you send me a screenshot?
    2. I cannot find the corresponding input on"GP 10 Config tab". Can you send me a screenspot?
3.I have three pieces of ucd9248 on board. When there is no configuration, the current on the board is 250mA@12v. Is it normal?
  • It appears that the GUI7.0.18 is missing the dependency settings for UCd9248. Could you please roll back to an older version GUI? We will fix it in the next release.

    Thanks,

    Zhiyuan

  • Where can I download the older version GUI?
  • Below is a link.

    software-dl.ti.com/analog/analog_public_sw/fusion/TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Designer-2.0.164.exe

  • ok,  Thanks!

I have three pieces of ucd9248 on board. When there is no configuration, the current on the board is 250mA@12v. Is it normal?

  • Each UCD9248 draws 55mA max from 3.3V rail.

You may need to consider other devices powered by the 12V bus.

    Regards,

    Zhiyuan
