Hello,

In My new Project i am designing a Battery charger load sharing and boost circuit to power my circuitry.

Here I am planning to use 2400mAh battery and output should be 5V, 2A for powering raspberry pi and some other low power components.

Can you check my schematics and kindly comment on it. Please find the attached pdf file.

Hi Sebastian,

In your schematic, R96 is too small so the frequency will too high. You can change this resistor's value to 150k.
I only support lm2623, so i can't give comments on other buck converter devices.

Hi Sebastian,

What is the input voltage range for the LM2623? Please note that the LM2623 has a current limit rating of 1.2A and the LM2623A has a current limit rating of 2.2A, with these worst case current limit values it might not be possible to have an output of 5V @ 2A. Depending on the input voltage range I can suggest a different IC.

Thank you for your reply, I will change the resistor value to 150k. I am using LM2623AMM/NOPB.

I am planning to use a 18650 type Li-ion battery for my application. So the input voltage range will be 3.2v to 5v (i am using a load sharing circuit when main power is present it will supply 5v directly to the boost input), I need a constant 5V output. I am planning to use LM2623AMM/NOPB model IC.
The LM2623AMM's output will not take constant 2A current normally my circuit will take around 1A but some times for a small instant it will take upto 2A.

I think TPS61232DRCR can be use in my circuit instead of lm2623. I need advice on this part.

Hi Sebastian,

The TPS61232 would be an acceptable selection for this application. It should also allow the 2A load current requirement to be achieved.
