BQ25120: BQ25120 shows fault status when battery is NOT connected.

Hi All,

I am using BQ25120EVM for my development. I bought EV2400 to evaluate chip behavior.

My BQ25120EVM shows always fault conditions when try to access via EV2400. Attached is the screenshot of battery management studio.

Charger status and BAT UVLO Fault fields are showing "Fault" and CD status is High even though I did not connect this pin to vcc.

What is going wrong here? Can someone please help?

Hello,
If battery is 0V then the BUVLO fault is correct because the battery is below the BUVLO threshold. Having any fault will cause the charging status to be fault and you cant charge a battery if it isnt present. Regarding CD status, i'll suggest you check the voltage on the CD pin and make sure it's not high. It's possible that you missed a jumper that makes CD high.
