LM3410: What if feedback resistor fails -open?

Part Number: LM3410

Hello Team,

While using LM3410, what will happen when feedback resistor will fail-open?

How to handle this condition so that device is not damaged?

Regards,

Mahendra.

  • Hello Mahendra,

That is a good question. I haven't tested it, but likely due to leakage through the LEDs the FB pin will be pulled up and the device will stop switching. I think the only danger might be damaging the FB pin from the initial transient. But that could be easily protected with a zener to prevent exceeding abs max.

    Regards,
