LM5033: LM5033 out1 and out2 both low at power on start up?

Part Number: LM5033

LM5033 out1 and out2 both low level at power on start up? if I tie CS to GND,  is duty cycle close to 50%? if the delivery power is less than 20W (12V), do I have to use a MOSFET driver to driver switch?

  • Hi Hailong,

Thanks for your interest in LM5033.

    1. Both Out1 and Out2 are low at startup.

    2. The CS pin is only for overcurrent protection (LM5033 is voltage mode). 50% duty cycle is just above the maximum duty cycle when accounting for deadtime. There is an internal pull-up on the comp pin so if you operate open-loop, LM5033 will operate with the max duty cycle. Take a look at section 7.3.3 of the datasheet:www.ti.com/.../lm5033.pdf.

    2. LM5033 has 1.5A source/sink drivers. Whether you need a an external gate driver or not depends on the gate capacitance of your MOSFET's. I would expect you would not need an external gate driver for the power range you are interested in.

    Best Regards,
    Ben Lough
