BQ24075T

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075T, BQ24075

What is the maximum output current we can get from "BQ24075TRGTR" on pins10 & 11 (OUT).

We need more than 1.5Amps.

we need to know output current when battery is connected to pin 2 & 3 (battery specifications 3.7V, 5200mAh)

Is there any way where we can keep the chip "BQ24075TRGTR" and add capacitors or any other component to get more than 1.5Amps current on pins 10 & 11 (OUT)?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,
The maximum output current when the battery is present and discharging is 5A. When this occurs, you will go into supplement mode and the battery will supply the required current in addition to the 1.5A from the input. If the battery is not present or deeply discharged, the maximum output current will be 1.5A.

  • Hi,

How do I configure BQ24075T to give out more than 1.5A?
Can changing resistor ISET and ILIM values help?

  • Hello,
ILIM deals with setting the maximum input current into the bq24075 while ISET deals with the maximum charging current. The maximum charging current that goes into the battery is 1.5A. If you set ILIM to be 1.5A and ISET to be 1A, you'll still be able to power your load while charging the battery as long as the load is <= 500mA. If the load is higher than 500mA but below 1.5A, you'll be able to power your load but your charging current will automatically be reduced by the charger IC. If your load requires more than 1.5A, the IC will still be able to provide this on the OUT pin up to 5A. In this case, all the input current will be going to the load as well as current from the battery. You will be discharging the battery as long as the battery can supply the current.
