TPS562201: About inductor selection

Hi,

I made a board using the TPS562201 device.
The specification is below.
I am using the constant of the inductor described in the datasheet. It is 4.7uH.
However, since the inductor ripple current is large, we want to change the value of the inductor to reduce the influence of noise.
The MAX value of the inductor at the output voltage of 5V is indicated in the data sheet and its value is 4.7uH.
I would like to use the 6.8uH inductor with the following model number.
The output capacitor is 30uF.

Is it possible to use a 6.8μF inductor?

Hello,

could you tell me what the value of ripple do you want? You can calculate the ripple according to datasheet page 13.

Due to your output voltage is large and current is small, I suggest to use larger than 6.8uH inductor.

1. if you want to use 6.8uf, you need check SW waveform, stable or not; overshoot/undershoot performance when do load transient test
2. Noted the inductor Irms is 1.6A, you can refer TPS561201

You can use 6.2uH or 6.8uH, the weakness of the big inductor is the loop band will be decreased and the transient rate will be more slow.

The attachment is the simulation data, you can try to simulate to see the waveform.
