BQ34Z100-G1: error of R_SOC during a discharge

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM, GPCRB

Hello,

I have a BQ34Z100-G1 connected with a 7S3P li-ion battery. The discharge is create with a electronic load in mode constant power at 550W. The ambiant temperature of the battery is -20°C. The R_SOC and the remaining capactity decrements normaly up to 77% and the R_SOC passes all at once in 55 % then in 19% then in 0%. I join the gg file and the log that created with voltage, current, temperature and R_SOC, remaining capacity. I am going to redo tests in same condition by monitoring more parameters. You can give me information which can solve this problem?

Thanksmilan.rar

  • Hi Micou
There are certain steps and procedures that has to be followed before the gauge can work for your cells. The gauge isn't a plug and play device. You need to do the following
-Make sure you identify and program your chem id on the gauge using our online tool, gpcchem.
-Then perform a learning cycle on the gauge.
-For low temperature performance optimization if the gauge isn't behaving properly at low temperatures, use our tool gpcrb.

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

I have identify the chem id in the list and I have charged it into the gauge before create the learned cycle.

the *.gg file that join is the created by the tool gpcrb.

    Thanks.

    Micou

  • Micou,
Are you saying you have completed the learning cycle and afterwards performed the gpcRb test?
    thanks
    Onyx
  • Hi Onyx,

Yes, I have completed the Learning cycle and afterwards performed the gpcRb test.

    Thanks,

    Micou

  • Hello,

I have generate 2 cycles the battery with a power of 550W with a ambiant temperature of 20°C. For the first cycle, I have no problem but when I have the second cycle, I have 2 cycle count increment. After a complete charge, I have 5 cycle count with 16710mAh in the remaining capacity (at the line of time of 14419s in the file), when the remaining capacity is 15230 (the time in the file is 14684s), the cycle count is 6 and when the remaining capacity is 4945mAh (the time is 16294s in the file), the cycle count is 4945. but the discharge is no stopped during the cycle and I have 2 increment of the cycle count. the CC threshold is 10000mAh.

If the "Cell BL set voltage Threshold" is no attempt, is it possible that the cycle count doesn't work correctely?

    Thanksmilanjauge.rar

  • Hi Micou,
Cycle count works correctly. The cycle count should be based on your cc threshold. I seem to be lost here due to the multiple exchanges. What is the issue at the moment? Is it that cycle count isn't working or something else is amiss?

    thanks
    Onyx
  • Hi Onyx,

Thanks for your reponse for the cycle count. I didn't understand if the meter of capacity was put back to 0 after the end of charge or after the increment of cycle count.

If I was other question, I create a new post for not lost the initial problem that is the the jump of SOC and remaining capacity.

    Thanks

    Micou
