BQ34Z100-G1: Design Enegry Scale vs. Design Capacity

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, , GPCCHEM

Hello.

I use bq34z100-g1 (bqStudio 1.3.54.1 throw EV2300(v3.1r).) with 2S8P LiPol 3500mAh.

For my application best choise is Load Select =0 and Load Mode = 1.

The scheme contains:

- divider for BAT pin is 130k/16k

- measuring resistor  = 10m

So I input in Data Memory next parameters:

Design Capacity 28000 MilliAmpHour
Design Energy 12600 MilliWattHour

Design Energy Scale 8 Number
Qmax Cell 0 28000 mAmpHr
CC Gain 10.123 mohm
CC Delta 10.147 mohm
Voltage Divider 9121 mVolt

After "Reset"-command  "Registers" window shows me RC = 0 mAh, FCC = 164 mAh and SOC = 0% for Voltage = 8106 mV,

if I change Load Mode to 0 then RC = 21483, FCC = 25803, SOC = 84% for Voltage = 8106 mV.

Tell me, please, what I do wrong?

Vadim.

  • Hi Vadim,
The gauge is not a plug and play device. There are steps that need to be followed before the gauge will report accuately.
You need to program your chem id which you can identify by performing the tests listed in the app note gpcchem.
Then you need to perform a learning cycle.
    thanks
