This device is rated for a maximum input voltage of 42V.

Unless you have a clamp on the input to the device, the pulse you specified will damage the device.

I'm sorry I didn't make the condition clear enough.

My customer clamp Vin to 36V using diode.

Vout would have a bump due to fast line transient. With proper loop design, it should recover fairly quick.
