TPS92630-Q1: TPS92630 PWM Pin Parameters

Part Number: TPS92630-Q1

 Hi,

I will used TPS92630 in 50mA LED driver by PWM dimming project.  But I can not understand PWM pin description in datasheet as picture,  is it the Pin input range? Could you explain to me, thanks?

By the way, how about TPS92630 PWM dimming level? I can not find it in datasheet.

  • Hi Darren,

VIH(PWMx) means the PWM pin input voltage at which the channel is turned on when PWM voltage is rising.
VIL(PWMx) means the PWM pin input voltage at which the channel is turned off when PWM voltage is falling.
What do you mean by PWM dimming level? Do you mean dimming ratio?

    Best Regards,
    Shirley He
  • Tanks for your reply.

when PWM input < VIL, the channel is turned off,

when PWM input > VIN, the channel is turned on.

VIL is  close to VIN,  how to reject ripple?

Yes, how many is TPS92630 dimming ratio?

  • Hi Darren,

Sorry I just noticed there is a mistake in the datasheet regarding PWM threshold. The data of VIH and VIL is reversed. We will revise that in the next version. Thanks for pointing it out.
Dimming level of TPS92630-Q1 is about 9-bit resolution. How much dimming ratio do you need? We have devices with higher dimming ratio.

  • Hi Shirley,

Tanks. 9 bit resolution meet my requirements.
