BQ27220: Simple step to update BQ27220 FCC value

hi,Onyx,

I am referring to Onyx Ahiakwo replied to BQ27220: Regarding Quick start guidelines.

End customer still insit that he would like to manually update Full Charge Capacity (FCC) to 13200mA. Pls give me 2 or 3 simple steps to update FCC.

Updating all registers using the golden file is not feasible and it impacts our system performance time during boot.

 

Please advice if that is feasible to update the FCC value in 2 to 3 steps to make the fuel gauge work?

    You must initialize multiple parameters in the data memory of the bq27220 in order to get accurate gauging, so it will take more than 2-3 commands. If you only want to see FCC report 13200mAh then you at least need to update Learned Full Charge Capacity and Qmax Pack in data memory using the instructions in the bq27220 TRM in section 3.1 Accessing the Data Memory. However, many other parameters need to be configured if you want the reported State of Charge and other gauging registers to be accurate.
