We have a requirement of Boost regulator. We have a Battery with ~3.7V (2.8V - 4.2V range) approx at the input. We want to to boost its voltage to 5V. The current rating required on the output is 3A. It would be good if we can have a higher efficiency for the regulator. This output voltage is used for GSM circuitry (and others), where-in there will be a peak current of 3A approx once in few seconds (for GSM activity). Excluding the GSM activity time, the current requirement is lesser than 1A.
For the above requirements, we are pursuing TPS62136P. However we are not sure whether there are any other better regulators or better way of implementation. Kindly suggest.
